About PiP Cue
What Pip Cue is
Pip Cue is a free Chrome extension that turns YouTube into a learning companion. It floats videos in picture-in-picture, opens a full transcript sidebar that translates to 100+ languages, loops the hard parts at any speed, and remembers where you stopped so you can pick up later.
Three picture-in-picture modes ship in the free version — a one-click Standard PiPthat uses Chrome's native floating window, a Cinematic PiP with full controls and live subtitles, and a Captions Only mode that floats just the subtitles. On top of that, YouTube watch pages get a red Save button (timestamped bookmarks) and a red Transcript sidebar (translate, click-to-seek, auto-scroll).
Why it exists
It started simple: I wanted a YouTube window that stayed on top while I worked, with captions, a way to slow things down, and a way to come back to the exact moment in a lecture or podcast that I needed to re-hear. Chrome's built-in PiP is great at the floating part, but it stops there. Pip Cue is the layer that actually helps you learnfrom what you're watching.
It found people I didn't expect at first — language learners using the translate-the-transcript feature on a slow-spoken interview, dancers looping a routine at 0.75x, students floating a Khan Academy lecture next to their notes, podcast listeners running the Captions Only window over their inbox.
