PiP Cue
YouTube For language learners

Every YouTube video is a language lesson.

Read every line in your language. Loop the line you didn't catch. Slow it down without changing pitch. Save the phrases you're still learning. All in one free Chrome extension.

What you get

Three features stacked together turn YouTube into a study tool.

Translate

Read the transcript in your language

The sidebar shows every line of the video. One tap translates the whole transcript to any of 100+ languages — free, no API key, no subscription.

Loop

Drill the line you didn't catch

A-B loop in Cinematic mode. Mark A, mark B, pick a slower speed — Pip Cue repeats the section until your ear locks on. Pitch stays intact.

Save

Bookmark phrases to study later

Hit the red Save button on YouTube to mark the exact second. The dashboard remembers thumbnail, title, and timestamp so you can resume the phrase any time.

YouTube Translate any video

Switch languages mid-watch.

Read in your target language while you study. Hit a tricky phrase? Tap the language pill, switch to your native, decode the line, switch back. The video keeps playing.

  • 100+ languages, free
  • Click any line to jump
  • Auto-scrolls like song lyrics
  • Copy a line to your notes in one click

How learners actually use it

Drilling a phrase you didn't catch

Mark A right before the word, B right after, set 0.75x, and let it loop. Repeat until your ear locks on. The transcript stays open so you can read along.

Studying a slow-spoken interview

Open the transcript sidebar, translate to your native language for tricky bits, then switch back to the target language. Click any line to jump there if you want to re-hear it.

Listening to a podcast on YouTube

Run Captions Only on top of your editor. Read the captions in your target language while you work. When something stops you, switch to Cinematic and loop the section.

Your transcripts never leave your browser

Caption tracks are fetched directly from YouTube's own endpoint and held in the current tab. PiP Cue never stores, uploads, or logs which videos you read transcripts of. Read the full privacy policy.
